The etymology of the name Buick: From the creator and designer of the first vehicle of David Dunbar Buick. Buick was a Scot who emigrated with his parents to the United States in the second half of the nineteenth century. David Buick achieved success in producing sanitation. Later, he began to dabble producing engines for the marine industry. In 1902 he founded the Buick Manufacturing Company, which, however, did not survive the year. Buick re-opened the company in 1903 under the name of Buick Motor Company. Buick developed OHV engine, which was much more durable than competitive engines posterio valve. The first vehicle called the Buick was called Model B, was produced in quantities of 16 pieces in 1903 and in the amount of 37 units in 1904. It was not enough to succeed in the market. The company needed capital. In 1904 the company joined the Neris Durant businessman who in 1908 led to the formation of General Motors holding companions.
