Kia

Beginning. Kia was founded in 1944 and is the oldest Korean car brand. At the beginning the company manufactured steel pipes and bicycle parts. In 1957, the construction of motorcycles and cars five years later.

Development. During the first decades of production, the company was not independent. In 1974, in cooperation with Mazda launched the Brisa. Today. A turning point for the company was the year 2000. Kia merged this year with native Hyundai. That's how the company Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group. Two years after the merger Kia produced a 10-million-dollar car, and in 2005 celebrated the export of 5-millionth car. Currently, the company is the second largest car manufacturer in Korea. The car maker has evolved into a company that has its own research centers, located in each of the six main branches, as well as leading research and development centers in Detroit, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Frankfurt.

Contribution to the automotive industry. Kia is more often associated with reliability. Cee'd model produced since 2006 in Zilina Slovak changed a whole class of compact cars.
